Late 7/19 post - Murray

Post by Pwy_FireCapt »

Sorry for the delayed post…

Took my son to Murray on Sunday. Got there at daybreak. Busting fish everywhere. Unfortunately, neither of us could deliver the correct presentation. I got one non-keeper during the craziness.
We ended the day at noon with 9 between us. Nothing of any size. Most came on dropshot with a couple on hard jerkbait.
The surface water temps throughout the lake were 81-84 degrees. Not great for shallow fishing.

Good report. Metal baits/castmasters have been doing lots of work on those busters.

Those busters have been very very selective on what they may hit. It gets frustrating to make som many casts on them and
somehow they manage to avoid your lure 98% of the time lately no matter what you toss. I remember the good old days
years ago at Murray where if you threw Sammys, Gunfish or a small jerk bait on to 10 spots of busting bass, you would land
about 8 bass. I was spoiled for many many years and now you make about 25-50-75 casts and might get bit....ha ha Anyway,
thanks for sharing and hope to see you on the water. Take care and tight lines :-)
