6/8 - 6/9

Post by maraxus »

Noticed that red tide cleared from Encinitas / Cardiff area. Tried my luck both saturday and sunday afternoon / evening. Saturday I got skunked, sunday I got a sand bass. Even with weedless set up, there was plenty of salad to deal with on both days.

Nice!
So you fish during high tide? For these beaches I usually go during low tide, preferably negative tide, when I can wade in and cast to farther structures that are permanently submerged. Do you find high tide also productive for these areas?

It wasn't exactly high tide, but definitely incoming tide and the water was rising. I usually prefer going at low tide as well but I had limited availability to be able to fish and took my chances :). It wasn't super productive as you can see, I got one bite total in two days :)
