Lake Hodges: The Pattern Is Changing!

Hey, all I hope fishing is treating you well. I headed out to Hodges twice this week each for just a few hours in the morning. Both days when I got there, the shad were busting up on shore with the birds having a frenzy right next to the Bass. The bite was on immediately both days on Wednesday I got a 4.1lb and a 4.6lb bass both on a mini fat Rap. I got another on Sunday that was 5.3lbs on the same bait. This fish was 23” and should’ve weighed 8 pounds easy but was spawned out and skinny.

The bite died out by 7am both days with a couple flipping bites coming later on Wednesday and a couple bigger crank bites (smaller fish 3.3lbs and 1 pound about the same for the flipping fish actually) on the DT-16.

Later on I got one last bite on a Ned rig Saturday which turned out to be a 4.2lb kitty. Still a fun fishy on 6lb test.

I was done both days by 10:30 ready to take on the day. Sunday, Mother’s Day I went home and did a seafood boil for my wife and her kids and 7 other people. I cooked cleaned and then finally sat down for my beer of the day.

A lot of people have mentioned that and it was freaking delicious. I think it is only available at the Harland Brewery so get out and get some. I only had one myself since Ryan brought it for me. I have to get out and get some more. Cheers!

I love those days when you have the whole lake to yourself.
