Sunday 5/19 Report. Jig bite was on!

https://youtu.be/UvXHdN2U4hE?si=0m_c7UvLqJI7BMku I managed to get out on the water on Sunday with my buddy Brad. It’s always fun fishing with a great friend and we don’t get to do it nearly as often as we used to. But when we do, it’s like picking up where we left off last time, it’s always competit...

Re: Sunday 5/19 Report. Jig bite was on!

You were spot on with the deeper bite. We enjoyed watching you two dissect that flat across from us, it produced for hours! We think the big one that finally broke Cynthia off after our Chinese fire drill was a hefty cat. Interesting that Brad got into one too.

Wed 22 kayak report

Got on the water with Dave @4:30, like last week it was foggy but today was much colder, went to Becky’s Cove hoping to reproduce like last week but it was tough. The fog and cold weather seems to hold them down, didn’t really get much until the sun came out. Went back to Hauser and got a nice 4.13 ...

Re: Wed 22 kayak report

Good job buddy. Late start as usual, only ‘landed’ 7, but biggest was w/ the frog. Same last week. Looking good for a great bite next few months. IMG_5697.jpeg Thank God for 65 pound braid, you don’t lose the fish down in the plants cause you can bring the plants up with them! :-) IMG_5707.jpeg So p...

SDFish party at D&K??!!

Decided to make my first trip out to what is known here at “the lake of D&K” in 30 years this morning. As fate would have it, turned into an SDFish party out there! I only fished till about 10am but ended up with 5 landed and 3 lost. Worm fish all of them except for one. Will definitely return t...

Been hitting the B pretty much all May with decent results. Today I took my cousin but we got too lazy to pump our tubes and decided to fish off the dock. It paid off pretty good. I got my share of crappie and this nice bass on a bluegill swimbait he got a decent one on a jig. It was pretty consiste...

Re: SATURDAY morning bite

100% ^^^ It can be hard to be disciplined to wait. Especially when they are chewing. Excitement can easily take over and when you hear or see the bite, it’s easy to instantly swing. Well said the excitement gets the best of me everytime, ima have to bend the hooks up a bit great advise Also forgot ...

Otay May 27

Otherwise known as I’m ready for this May weather to go away. Arrived just after the gate opened and second to launch. Except we didn’t. It was near white capping straight from the east and darn chilly. Gave it 30 minutes and headed out. First stops were all along the eastern wind protected side of ...

Re: Barrett Report May 26

I'm not really sure if I like having panoptix, I don't use it much, and when I do, it's not the favorite to see fish moving away from your lure. I think that's the most helpful aspect of forward facing sonar. We went through stages on FFS learning. The first few weeks, we'd giggle like schoolgirls ...

5/28-Another Murray cat

Just thought I would share another cat I caught at Murray while fishing for bass on a spoon. This one weighed right around 7 1/2lbs. I thought it was a bass at first, but then the way it was fighting knew it was probably a cat. Anyway....it was a fun fight on a light rod with 8lb fluoro. IMG_2881.PN...

Re: Barrett Report May 26

You may have to slow down to whack those inactive Bass. Most of my hits on the jig were in the 5 seconds I let it lay there before barely moving it.

Wed 29th top water fun!!

Got out usual time, Jose let us in early, wasn’t too busy at Pigs, met our buddies Dave and Joe, headed to Hauser. Consistently good popper bite ALL day, even got one on a Rat, the biggest was 4lb on a frog! Braided line really got it done, did lose some big fish on barbless hook, but overall anothe...
