Lake Hodges: FISHING ON FIRE!!!
Hey all sorry for the late report. I posted the video and then forgot to put the report here as well. Here goes…
Sunday headed for my second Hodges outing of the year and had a super fun day. I started out the day hoping for a reaction bite and got one on a blade and a few on Shad raps. The fishing slowed way down after that and I went to the bait I dislike throwing the most. Soft stick baits. I don’t know why I just prefer other lures. I switched back and forth between those wacky rigged and Ned rigs and ended up getting 25 for the day. I fished exclusively on the Del Dios side and mostly the south bank. I did not get any monsters but the fish I did get were great fighting and acrobats. Most of the bites were within 10 feet of the bank with many hitting on the drop. It took me a bit to dial it in but then it was on.
As always I’m just happy to be on the lake again and relearning with the new terrain. Check out the video for more details. Cheers and see you on the water!
