Hello all,
Had a fun day at Barrett. Started out in proper darkness and caught a large ( although in this group large sunfish is dangerous ) bluegill. He was 1 pound 9 ounces, which was as big as my average on bass today. Then puttered about for while. Finally got into some fish in Hauser. Then it was slow again for while, then turned on for an hour, and then back to slow. I threw the tacklebox at them poppers, jerkbaits, underspins, spinnerbaits, flukes, dropshot, senkos and crankbaits. Nothing. Finally around lunch, a few more on jerkbaits.
I talked to a few people who felt it was a bit slow today. I think the weather was just odd enough to change the bite. It was clear when we started and really clouded up. At lunchtime when I headed in the wind was howling, it was an effort to get my kayak back in, I can't imagine what the float tubes went through.
Tight lines everyone.
