San vee 5/15

Post by Stringbean »

I was blessed with great weather, overcast skies and light wind.
I just couldn't do my part, I started early chasing bluegill, the bass just were all over the bait, only one bluegill.
Moved on to catch a few bass, my bluegill skills are short .I truly enjoy catching them,
It's a true challenge, nothing easy about it.
Caught 20 plus bass , plastics tight to the bank, on every stick up, or brush pile.
I fish light line and unweighted baits, otherwise your hung up.
Heavy algae bloom, but didnt slow the bite.
I didnt take any pictures of 1 1/2lb fish.
Perfect time to take the kids out.
Put’em in the cooler!!!!

Saw that someone caught a 4.2LB redear sunfish at San V on Sunday! Buddy of mine likes to chase the big slab gills with UL gear. Looks like a ton of fun.

Hey @stringbean …Sounds like you had a fun time which is great. Yeah…action wise, catching lots of bass can’t be too bad. Of course some of those slabs in San V probably put up a nice fight. Anyway, I have no doubt that you will be pulling in lots of fat slabs soon. Thanks for sharing and tight lines always.

Thank you,Vinny.
It was a great day ,
Now I’m hoping the padres have better luck.
Those slabs are something special.
My wife and I , spend alot of time chasing them along the canals.cruising our Polaris along stopping at the spots, drowning the night crawlers . The spring time is amazing .
It’s addicting.
Put’em in the cooler!!!!
