Got to the lake at 6 today was a little chilly but not too bad.Parking however was a mess but was still able to get a decent spot. I usually hit the first cove but decided to head straight for hauser, flipped the edges of trees with no luck ... headed for the middle of the lake to deep crank but i was surprise to see a few boils Got the sammie out and started landed them, bass where hitting the surface so hard it was awesome just to watch, one fish hit the sammie 4 times before i hooked it Even the savage gear 12in snake got in on some action so i was really happy Broke the skunk of the snake catching nothing last couple of years. Boils only lasted about 1.5 hours so i drifted down hauser. Came across a few rocky spots and started to flip again Almost instantly i felt hard thump and landed a few 3 4 pounders... still drifting down threw my favorite 10in worm and landed a 5.4 healthy bass the fight was nuts and was surprise i got him cause the hook was just hanging by a thread... super happy at this point with my new pb and gotten a few hits on the snake. Figure what else can make this day great....a few minutes later i landed a 6.54 bass(new p.b)
Headed all the way into the back of hauser arms for some fun frog action and man it was fun.... only 1 hook up on the frog out of about 15 20 blow ups ( not a good frog guy) headed back to dock around 2 wind was nuts...... ALSO people really need to learn how properly unhook a fish and not leave the hook in the gills, caught a fish with a hook in the gills so i easily removed it out hook was rusty so i hope the fish made it ok ..... overall a amazing day a barrett.......

Its a pond prowler by bass pro shops 8ft version,i need to stand so i figured this is better for standing then a kayak super stable just have to get use to it cause barrett winds will make you go side ways enough to dump some gear over if not careful...

Wow I suck! I was there yesterday too and threw shad baits and top water to the mid-lake boilers in Hauser for nothin and then threw a frog in the way back for an hour for zero blowups.

We did well on green craw jigs, drop shot, and 6” MM Roboworms on darter heads.

The schools seem to be small cause after one fish hooked or a few blow ups the fish would move it was impossible to lock them in i had to chase them in circles around the lake πŸ˜† if you saw some nut just going back and fourth in hauser it was me

The back of hauser was a little bit tense. I actually got stuck a few times going in and had to pull or push my way in/out i think i went to the farest point of hauser literally took me 30 mins to get out of the mess back there

Epic! It’s hard to do but let those fish take the frog down and come tight before swinging. Also you can try bending the hooks up just a little. I’d take the snake bite over the frog !haha

I lower my Rod and watch for the line to start taking off. Much better hookup ratio.

100% ^^^ It can be hard to be disciplined to wait. Especially when they are chewing. Excitement can easily take over and when you hear or see the bite, it’s easy to instantly swing.

Thats a good tip i usually try to hook it as soon as it hits the frog i think the rush gets the best of me so i usually end up missing gonna have to practice more on the froggy this year
