Decided to make my first trip out to what is known here at “the lake of D&K” in 30 years this morning. As fate would have it, turned into an SDFish party out there!

I only fished till about 10am but ended up with 5 landed and 3 lost. Worm fish all of them except for one.

Will definitely return to that lake in the near future! Was great to meet @fisheromen and @mcfish and also great to see @VinnyBass and @Dannicus again.

Rest this afternoon and evening and Otay in the morning tomorrow!

That lake looks familiar! Who named it that D&K foolishness? (I did) I got 8 bass and a crappie. Mostly on a jerkbait. Got twin 3.28 lb fish on a gunfish. Those were my biggest. Almost cold a couple of times.
Cannot imagine a world without Sutherland open on Fridays!

Donald and Kiefer Sutherland should be honored that you named a lake after them… ha ha I am so glad that I was near you to see you catch those two bass on that Gunfish. You released the first bass then it seemed less than a minute you had another nice fish on the Gunfish Great seeing you out there Jeremy. Glad you had fun and got some nice healthy bass. Pretty certain you’ll be returning. And great seeing you Dannicus and of course McFish. It’s almost like we planned it ha ha

It was really awesome seeing you all out there! It was my first time at Sutherland but it certainly won't be my last. Thanks for showing this old guy the ropes out there. My final count was 14, not including three dinks which would have made it 17. All in all in awesome day!

I know somehow it was Vinnybass that planned this surprise party! I hope he got Fisheromen's permission first! A fun time was had by all, even though Vinny was a little grumpy at first after missing some hooksets..fortunately he got his mojo back! I ended the day with 15 clones and broke off 3 fish, I want those 3 fish back. Nice to meet the SDfish crew out there today! If you think Lake DK is a special place on fridays, text or call your Mayor and City Council because they want to shut it down on fridays! They are in discussions now...along with closing El Cap in January and Hodges in February. The slippery slope started when they took away one day each month and it will only get worse!

Just wondering...since I am a shore pounder by nature...is it worth going to this "lake of D&K" for me?

I saw quite a few caught from shore so I'd say yes

The lake is looking heathy.
