PB Striped Bass

Hello SDFISH,
Caught this bad boy in the south bay. I was lucky ran into them that day. First hooked up bend my hook, second one landed it. Measured at 25" and 4.36 Lbs. I have see them in the past but they are not interested in my lures.

Wow, I've never seen a striper come out of south bay and I've caught thousands of fish out of there over the last 10 years. Were you targeting spotties and they just showed up? Were they north of the cays? Most of my fishing is in that area but we used to fish the coronado bridge area for heroes on the water.

I was just fishing for anything that bites. Caught it all the way in the south. The last few years I have caught few small one but I have see it more often in the bay now.

Cool I guess I’ll eventually get one. I grew up fishing stripers in Mass and still love going after them as they can be caught almost any way.

I'm not a fish person but wanted to tried it out. Actually I like it. Can't believes how many small smelts in it stomach. Total of 34

Surprised there’s no small lobsters or crabs. The ones on the east coast chow on small lobsters like crazy.
