V is for victory!
..as in victory over a bunch of healthy, hard fighting fish.
When my brother planned his trip down here the first thing I did was book a guided trip with my buddy Andre Casey. As the trip date approached, San V was the clear choice with numbers still showing up and quality of the fish getting better every week it seems. I wanted to ensure we were gonna have at least one great day out on the water. If you read my previous thread you know we have actually been killing it from the bank numbers wise with some decent quality at my favorite body of water, so we didn’t need a guided trip to have a great day, but man was it fun.
Finesse plastics are the name of the game. I had my dropshot rod in my hand 99% of the day and it was bent a lot of the time.
An exceptional numbers day. Shade early, then working the mudline later in the day once the wakeboats became a nuisance did the trick. Biggest fish of the day was on a weightless plastic I cast to the base of a big tree in shade. Line started running on the fall and drag was screaming as soon as I set the hook. Ended up being just shy of 4lbs, though it looks like a 6 or 7 in the picture lol.
Big shoutout to Andre for the trip, as well. Dude is always a blast to fish with and any time I get to pick his brain I learn a ton.
San V was the last place my brother and I got to fish with my grandfather in 1994 - so getting to have a big day there was pretty special! I’ll let the pics do the rest of the talking here.

Sweet!!!
The pics probably show only half the fun you guys had landing those bass that day..
A day that you and your brother will never forget.
Thanks for sharing and a shout out to Andre Casey too.

You're right, looks bigger than 4! Guess it has been too long since I caught a 4! Or a three for that matter.

Only saw a couple real shallow busters early. We were done before the evening so didn’t get the late shift busters but still an amazing day.
