Bay 6-5
Got a hall pass to go fishing and decided I needed to hit the big bay. Launched from shelter at 930 am and went straight across to north island. Fished several depths and found a few fish in about 15-20 feet. I threw mostly swim baits with the occasional drop shot. I made a move to tidelands and picked up 4-5 more angry beasties. Headed south and fished a few grass flats for a few here and there. Hit the South Bay and got on the mother load. Got on a very good bite letting the boat drift and just fan casting a swimbait along top of the grass. Lost track on how many I caught but it was a fast bite with several back to back to back fish. Most of the fish were clones 11-12 inches with the occasional 13-14 inches fish. Didn’t take a lot of pictures but here are a few for inspiration

You might have seen me then. Fished from a float tube, south of the bridge, got 22 spotties and 2 corvina. Best bait was a Missile 3.5” Shockwave on a standup weedless head worked slowly on the bottom. Slower than usual day. Usually I get smaller fish in South Bay this time of year.

Yeah I did see a guy on a tube and a couple yaks too. Was hoping for a vina today but I’ll settle for a good spottie bite

Nice, thinking about taking the boat out there soon. That's actually why I was checking out the bay section ![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.png)

That’s some good fishin’. Drifting those grass flats down there is a great way to get a lot of looks from the spotties.
