The beans are coming ;)

Post by DJ Thrillz »

Caught three beans in last two days, all on the LC. Weirdest thing ever. Out of all the years of throwing the LC in the surf, Sunday was the first time I had ever caught a bean with it, and then it happened again three casts later! 1/4” smaller than the first one, which was 19.25”. Then, it happened again yesterday…. Another 19”er, again on the same LC in grunion. I’m baffled!

Nice! I definitely feel like those early season corbina are more opportunistic later in the season. I got one this year on a red perch fly and another one on a Texas rigged swimbait. I’ve caught a couple on LCs during grunion runs too. Not sure how they think they can fit one in those sucker mouths of theirs.

I got one a few weeks ago on a red perch fly as well. Hooked in the gill plate so I let it go with out a picture or measurement. Caught right after this lunker.

Excellent - As I've been taking the Coaster north for work I've been watching North Torrey and the conditions have been looking better and better. Gotta get the fly rod out there soon...
