Beating the Breeze In Style 6-30

Post by JWall »

Didn’t do zero dark thirty but probably should have. The spotty bite south of the bridge in Square Mile Flats was immediately on with slower retrieves coming through the grass. Quickly got off a fast retrieving blade bait and on to the drop shot with a Z man TRD. My bro was pounding me though on a 3/8 ball jig with a Keitech pinned on so I had to respond with the same jig with a Cabela's swimming minnow. I brought two colors I’ve bought for lakes that for some reason I’ve never thrown or had much luck and the yellow in both got us both bit steadily. 35 fish total including a baby butt for me on the drop shot. The predicted freshening breeze was perfect until about 9:30 when we exited. Pretty close to a perfect morning!
