Some guys turned it into a political debate platform, attacking others and such. I guess that was the main reason why the whole board was deleted by the owner.

Really glad to see that is waste-side now...
Many others are also glad, the toxicity is gone........

The old owner (Kellen) could have easily just deleted the Lounge and left everything else intact. Myself and others have tried contacting him by email and phone with no success. His contact information is on various sites.

Kellen should be 40 years old now: [removed]

My guesses:
1. He died
2. He went senile
3. He was otherwise incapacitated (drugs, alcohol, accident, etc.)

If he was not making money from the site or just didn't want to spend any time on it, the smart thing to do would be to advertise for a buyer on sdfish.com, there are plenty of people who regretted seeing the site degrade and would have liked to have seen it restored to its previous excellence. Hopefully this site does that.

I had to remove the links. Perhaps Kellen does not want people to contact him.
Either way if he decided to close the website there isn't much we can do.

Most of us are glad about the new platform & rules of no politics & religion. Suggest you amend the rules to include no memes of any kind...
Im telling you, toxicity is coming, he cant help himself...
One way or another, he will cause havoc....
Just saying!

Memes are not a problem as long as they aren't intended to insult the community.

Yes, I agree Slater that “his” memes became foul and offensive. While there are funny ones (memes)out there …I doubt that person we all remember can follow the rules. Not that I’ve gone to Vegas countless number of times or actually worked at the casino my last 10 years of my work life, but I would be willing to bet on it. Thank goodness there is no betting on this site. :-) Anyway, my hats off to the site and administrator for not permitting comments about politics and religion. Best thing to happen to keep this site fun for everyone.

The attacking is already starting. Just leave it in the past and get over it. Anyone can guess why the site is gone and we will probably never know. Keep it neutral and move on. Bashing has started. -spilt milk, water under the bridge… If someone sees that there is all ready badmouthing against them when they join, they will probably defend themselves. Stoked to see people again. Bummer about our “blank” given rights but it is what it is.

I'm happy that I didn't give up on wondering what happened and kept searching. There's not a lot of resources (that I have found) and this site really helps me. Thank you to whomever started this new site. Now if I could only catch something at San Vicente, my fishing life would be complete.

Keep at it, San V is one of the easier options out there to actually catch fish. Hands down an easier fishery than my stomping grounds....

Hi Slater,
San V certainly looks promising. I think this year the water got almost warm, the fish started to move up and then it got cold again. Yesterday the water temp was 60-61 degrees wherever I went. I don't think that they have spawned yet, I didn't see any fry anywhere and I also didn't see any fish in the shallows. I think they all are still lower in the water column. I'm back to fishing after a 30 year gap, so it certainly could be a skill level thing. :)

This is cool. Lounge topic morphs into a fishing discussion. That wouldn't have happened on the old sdfish, maybe the opposite instead.

It's a pity the old forum is gone, there were plenty of good information there. I'm glad that I have found the new forum though. Hopefully, over time quality fishing content becomes available here as well.

You posted a very good article on fishing SD Bay on the old site, I even saved it. Would be good to see articles like that posted here. The old site had a lot of useful information for people just getting started fishing in the SD area.

https://sdfish.com/forums/t/fishing-san ... ay.163428/ was the article you posted.

Awesome that somebody took the initiative to launch a new site. And a non-political lounge

It's a shame that the wealth of knowledge on the old sdfish is inaccessible now.

Eh, finger pointing and back biting going on already. No news there. It's always 'that guy' .. heh. Probably just post a report here once in awhile, if you all don't want me here, just say so...
