poppers and crankbaits and jigs oh my! 6/25
I fished lake Murray this morning, and the water was so low that it was almost at the end of the boat ramp. On the plus side, I had the place almost all to myself (except for a few shore guys that arrived mid-morning).
There were a lot of bass busting early, but I couldn't get them to take my top water walking bait, so I switched to a small popper and Wham-O! I suspect the popper more closely matched the small shad they were chasing.
I ended up with three popper fish, one on a small crankbait, and three on jigs before it got so hot that my testicles were in danger of melting away in my waders. I think tomorrow I'll fish Mission Bay.. IN SWIM TRUNKS!
Wishing you all tight lines and cool privates.

Clearly that's one of the unforeseen risks of fishing....

Glad “they” did not melt… because it would be a long painful walk back to your truck with your float tube. Yeah, the water is really going down pretty quick and thank goodness you have a tube so you can still get out there and continue to catch bass.

Clearly! One of the dangers they studiously forgot to warn us all about before we embarked on this journey.Early release wrote: ↑Tue Jun 25, 2024 5:52 pm Clearly that's one of the unforeseen risks of fishing....

Always enjoy your posts. I feel like I should report (if I ever get a chance to fish), just to help out the couple guys that do.
Do you wear breathable waders? Neoprene is too hot in the summer!
