June 15 scorcher!

I was surprised to get a boat ticket since I logged in from work to do it...don't tell my boss...but I did so day before Fathers day I went (no, not with my kids they don't fish much), but with my buddy Chris. Started in the fog...just a bit but it was chilly. I guess we are late starters since we w...

True Story

I fished every day last week. On Friday I was dealing with some nagging hand pain that I assumed was arthritis. By mid-day on Saturday it had become pretty acute. So much so that it kept me awake that night. I was having trouble even making a fist. I wasn't sure if it was muscular, tendonitis, carpa...

Nonstop Topwater & Jigs Action 6/16

Nonstop Topwater & Jigs! The Barrett 1-2 Punch! https://youtu.be/d0yEnclEeWQ OK, take two! After just doing a full write up of the day and everything the website logged me out and I have to do it again. But that’s OK because it was such a fun day. I don’t mind telling the story again. After arri...

Re: Nonstop Topwater & Jigs Action 6/16

Hey Dave never brought beers on my boat 🤔 Great day out there Chris! Your whopper plopper retrieve caught my eye…are you actually pausing just an hair and letting it sink some or is that my imagination? I’ve always used a constant fairly quick retrieve like a buzzbait so it always stays on top of th...

Re: Nonstop Topwater & Jigs Action 6/16

Hey that’s not good! Now he has to share with everyone! I think we learned that in elementary school. But yes, you’re right that’s exactly what I was doing. Like I said I’ve never actually fished with the bait before or even seen anyone fish with it. I heard that they were good so I picked up a coup...

Re: Nonstop Topwater & Jigs Action 6/16

Great day on the water with you. Thanks for the tutorial on jigs. I was so excited with that fish until he clearly knew what he was working with and wrapped me around a tree. I'm going to practice a bit more. John, apologies. I will definitely fix that on our next trip. I actually bought a new cool...

Morning Sesh El Cap 6-21

Have an old work and fishing buddy here visiting that bolted to North Carolina in ‘99. We picked up our rivalry right where we left off at El Cap this morning from 6-9:30. He got a white spinnerbait fish quickly and I nabbed one on a micro 1/8 Oz jerkbait. BTW that was on the Dannicus Ark BFS reel a...

Nice job out there. The pics tell the story as it is always fun to fish with an old fishing buddy. You guys probably caught up on lots of fish stories no doubt. That was nice of you letting him catch one more than you but that was probably only a one time deal. Anyway, I enjoyed your post and so gla...

6/21.......Murray

First of all... Hey there....is anybody bass fishing anymore? I did not go fishing for a week(which felt like a month) and always look for new bass fishing reports daily(actually sometimes hourly)and lately they are rare to find. It makes the site a lot more fun to see how people are doing out there...

Otay, Murray, El Cap

Since I fish nearly everyday It'd get pretty darned boring seeing posts all the time so I cut back. Still, not wanting to see poor Vinny go into apoplectic withdrawals due to lack of fish porn here are a few pictures from last week's lakes. I've been having a lot of topwater walking bait success at ...

Re: Barrett Report June 19

Got out at 0430 with Chuck and Joe. Of course we all headed different ways, Chuck to a cove where he had success last week and I pedaled to Becky's cove. Joe passed me on the way to Hauser and that was the last I saw of him today. Air was a little chilly at 54F, slight wind, but water a pleasant 75...

Re: Barrett Report June 22

I always thought you need instant motion with the whoppers and choppers to keep them on the surface but Pourboy’s success the other day with intermittent sinks has me thinking.
