Wed 29th top water fun!!

Got out usual time, Jose let us in early, wasn’t too busy at Pigs, met our buddies Dave and Joe, headed to Hauser. Consistently good popper bite ALL day, even got one on a Rat, the biggest was 4lb on a frog! Braided line really got it done, did lose some big fish on barbless hook, but overall anothe...

Re: The City of San Diego is at it again!

This is interesting. Find a way for a government contractor to make money with these bodies of water on public land.

6/3- On the way to Murray....

A funny thing happened on the way to Murray with my kayak this morning. As I got to the bottom of the hill instead of going straight over the freeway and up to the lake, I made a right and got onto 8 East and headed to El Cap. Never a rush to get to Murray I finally arrived at El Cap a little around...

June 8th bite

Trying out my brothers Pro Angler. I normally have a double seater mirage that I use. It is lighter but definitely not as stable as the pro angler. Going to have to get a pro angler. It was definitely easier on my back than my old mirage. Headed out in the dark and through the fog. Spent a bunch of ...

Re: June 8th bite

That's a great shot of the bobcat. I really like Barrett partially because you do get to see a lot of animals, but I haven't seen a bobcat. That's really cool. Of course the fishing is pretty cool too. ;)

We didn’t see the usual mammals there yesterday but my new-found birding fanatic glassed a big heron feeding a large, loud nest of babies with regurgitated fish she was prowling the shoreline for. A great show!!

Re: Nonstop Topwater & Jigs Action 6/16

Hey Dave never brought beers on my boat 🤔 Great day out there Chris! Your whopper plopper retrieve caught my eye…are you actually pausing just an hair and letting it sink some or is that my imagination? I’ve always used a constant fairly quick retrieve like a buzzbait so it always stays on top of th...

Re: Nonstop Topwater & Jigs Action 6/16

Great day on the water with you. Thanks for the tutorial on jigs. I was so excited with that fish until he clearly knew what he was working with and wrapped me around a tree. I'm going to practice a bit more. John, apologies. I will definitely fix that on our next trip. I actually bought a new coole...

Barrett Report June 19

Got out at 0430 with Chuck and Joe. Of course we all headed different ways, Chuck to a cove where he had success last week and I pedaled to Becky's cove. Joe passed me on the way to Hauser and that was the last I saw of him today. Air was a little chilly at 54F, slight wind, but water a pleasant 75 ...

The beer we had was actually an oatmeal stout, so it's a breakfast food. It's ok. :)

NOC 6/19

Met a couple of buddies for a little surf fishing... Ton's of small sand crabs everywhere, so doubling or tripling them up was the bait of choice... Also tons of small BSP for the taking... We all got all we needed of them but were hoping for corbina or croakers.. One buddy got 3, and I got one.... ...

Barrett Report June 22

Good day on the water at Barrett for Saturday. Got out dark and early which is my favorite. Water was already at 74F and the air was probably about 60 F. Slight chop from that evening wind. What was fun was the moon was so bright it almost was light enough. See first picture, that's not a sun, that'...

D&K 6/23

Met a gentleman named Mike at the lake who told me that he actually enjoys my posts here on the forum so this one's for you brother. I arrived Mcfish 's lake when it opened and got on the water just in time for some excellent topwater action. I caught 5 quality bass in the first hour and a half on a...
