Re: Back at Barrett! Hauser Arm this time

Feel your pain. No punctures in 30 years w old ODC 420 , brand new scadden hybrid punctured from dorsal spine of dink bass as I released and it jumped and stabbed the tube. This was at 6am deep in pine. Kayaker had some duct tape but did not hold when wet. Ended up heading back w finger on leak. I n...

Re: Rainbow Bass Fishing Lake Arenal Costa Rica

Those rainbow bass look related to tilapia? Some type of cichlid? Cool catches.

Re: San Vee 7/10

The bass didnt make it, put it in the livewell. To see if it would revive her,was bleeding pretty bad.. People say they dont like the taste of bass, but my 60yrs experience is mild flavor. But my family cooks wild game.. People dont like duck either, but my duck jerky dont last long. Marinade in cof...

Hodges was Hot (and the weather, too)

Usually I hit up Hodges in the mornings, but today I had a couple hours to spare, and so I decided to head out at 2:30pm – and boy was it HOT, and WINDY. I totally forgot the wind picks up big time in the afternoon. And it's probably why I only saw a couple kayaks and a float tube in the w...

Re: Hodges was Hot (and the weather, too)

Hell yeah brother! The jig has been the juice up there for me too. Last weekend I pulled 5 in 20 minutes on a black jig.

Re: Float tube fishing Lake Hodges?

They have you park at the boat dock now and that's pretty close to the water. Watch this video and you can see the setup.

Fuego!

Got to fish San V yesterday morning with SDFish member Oh Da Shiz off his boat. San V is just en fuego right now. Mostly a finesse plastic bite but they were chomping. Find the shade, find the mud, find the fish. Definitely the best local bite going that isn’t on the downlow. We ended up with ~20 fi...

8/2-Back to Lake Miramar

Last Monday when I was at Miramar I saw a few rumbles on the surface but had no topwater baits with me as I packed mostly worms and craw baits. A buddy also recently told me he caught a few on top this trip I packed a few topwater baits in my kayak. It was a little foggy when I arrived and headed ac...

Re: Spotty Fishing San Diego Bay- A-rig and Ultralight

Cool video, cool rod, nice fish! I haven’t had much luck with spotties during slack tides. I have had days where I absolutely nailed them at low tide in the channels next to flats using a crankbait, outside the weedline. Have yet to find that I do any better on an Alabama rig than on a single soft ...
