Did anyone lose a tackle box?
I was the last one off the water on Saturday and ran across a tackle tray. Anyone missing it?

Heading to Hauser in the dark .. very dark with all the clouds and rain.. Fished around Hauser but didn't go all the way back int...

5/9-Couple of Firsts at Murray
A couple recent trips to Murray resulted in a handful of small bass(McFish would be proud as I gave in and used drop-shot) and a couple of nicer fish on reaction baits. Anyway, I just wanted to share a few firsts of the year with you as today's trip produced my first topwater bass of the year. Saw a...

Re: Storm Fishing Again?! Barrett 5/5
Great video and you could feel that weather! And nice touch bringing a bartender with you 😂 Speaking of, Resident Brewery came out with a chocolate raspberry beer a while back (since discontinued). I’m not much on those flavors but paired with a shot of peanut butter whiskey was outrageously good. G...

Re: How's the Pine Creek arm?
Watch for a late reply today. Heading out now and the plan is to fish Pine for some part of the day. I’ve been hitting Hauser mostly as well. Time for something new.

Re: Storm Fishing Again?! Barrett 5/5
Was that you that hooked up right as I was passing you in a boat? we actually had two boats. I kept staring at all the tubers looking for you with my Pop because we enjoy your videos so much and had some cold ones too share. Maybe we can hookup in June for a midday brew on the lake!

Re: How's the Pine Creek arm?
Yea very interested to hear how it goes! Pine was fine, but hear Hauser was too. We got on some schools busting bait up against rocky steeps and did most of our damage on reapers and minnows on small ball jigs. Biggest 3.3lbs. But also got some with senkos outside the first brush line. 44 for both ...

Quick morning at Hodges
Took a friend to Hodges and wanted to avoid all of my usual shore pounding, so rented a boat. Almost a quick start as I had a "dock monster" just miss while waiting for my buddy to arrive. Anyway, went right over to the birds across from the dock and there were shad everywhere and no bites...

Barrett Report May 11
Nice day on the water at Barrett, was reasonably warm even in the dark. Not sure I like traversing the lake in the fog, in the dark though. Water started out at 68F and wind was pretty calm. First fish was on a bad cast ( backlash and me picking it out in the dark). I hit the shoreline and it was be...

Cap float 5/12
Took the tubes out to Cap this morning. Mother’s Day had the lake pretty empty early! Only a couple of boat trailers and my brother and I in the tubes. Immediately started throwing my favorite bladed bait around shallow brush. Got the most action where there was brush in the back of cuts and coves. ...

Re: Cap float 5/12
Light wire spinnerbaits to me always seem to put out more vibration, but don't hold up to the abuse as long. I will sacrifice the baits longevity if it gets more bites. Totally agree with you as I am a fan of light wire too.

Finally some time off from tournaments....
I finally got some time off from fishing these kayak tournaments up here in Northern California..... I was able to find and dial in a pretty speical bite on my now Home pond. Weightless 5" Shad color senko dead sticking on the tops of boulders. Tops of the boulders would be in about 20ft. I fou...

Good to be back to the V.
It's been several weeks since I've done a Monday on San V and it felt good to be back! The lake is higher than it's ever been and everything I've learned there in the last 60 years is pretty much out the window! Fortunately, the fish made it easy on me by hanging out in the brush in shallow water. I...
