Lake Hodges Opening Week 2024

Lake Hodges Opener 2024 https://youtu.be/F35SFcPAXTQ Hey all, it’s that time of the year again! I am always excited to go to Lake Hodges, and this year was no exception. I had made a point to make sure that I got out there on opening day and battled the rain. It was challenging out there for sure, i...

Basically all the bass fishermen that I have talked to have struggled so far. Crappie has been on for lots. The lake has come up several feet very quickly and Hodges is notoriously challenging in February.

Re: San V 2/18 Bees, busters and Bassholes!

I hear you Moose. I have learned to try to be more lenient when a guy with his family for example, are in rental boat and have no clue that when they come close to where I am fishing or cut between me and the shoreline. Not fun, but I guess most do not really know any better and are just out to hav...

Re: Feel for the Winter,

Y'all hit me up. Invite yourself fishing. Tubes, yak, hike, shore, fresh, salt, fly, etc. Ramona, morena, Sd bay, Sweetwater, etc. If you're one of those guys that makes a youtube video because you catch 3 dinks, don't hit me up. :( Was thinking of hitting you up, but am I one of those guys? I don'...

Confidence Baits or New Baits: Which Do I Fish?

https://youtu.be/FRH0713MlFA?si=CXmy52JYgvHrnWIW Hey all I hope all the lines are tight and the drags are screaming. I really had a mental splinter this week deciding where to fish. I know that shouldn't be that big a deal but look I'm sure you guys get it. Do I fish here or there? Once a decision h...

Re: Confidence Baits or New Baits: Which Do I Fish?

Obsess over where to fish and what to throw? Me?! LOL that’s got to be all of us. Lately location is anywhere away from the tournaments. I make lists and lists of tactics, each different for every lake. I love trying newer weapons, hence the jig Saturday. More of a rubber worm guy for bottom fishin...

Lake Hodges Fishing: How Many Fish Can I Lose In One Day? https://youtu.be/FKoe7PF1Ow0 Hey all here’s a late report from last Sunday at Hodges. I said out to just enjoy having a day on the water. It ended up turning into something bizarre. I worked down the shoreline and ended up missing a couple of...

Re: Lake Hodges: How many fish can I lose in one day?

Hey...your tough day of lost fish brings back some crazy memories, but at least you did have highlights of the ones you caught. I know it is not the same and it is impossible to figure out how did so many fish came off and why. I beat myself up when I lose a handful or a bigger one for several days...
