Son’s First Halibut in Mission Bay 1/13

Rented a skiff to bond with my son. Didn’t have hi expectations especially since we are beginners. Was about to call it a day and he snagged a legal halibut on live sardine. He was so pumped and now is addicted.

Oxbow Fishing the Colorado River and Lake Mohave

https://youtu.be/p-6rxPwxobs?si=ka-kLZeLFj8VNK0Q Hey all one of my goals for the new year is to step out and try lots of new fishing spots. I headed to Lake Mohave over the Christmas holidays and ended up getting blown out for the most part, literally. The day I got there the wind was blowing 30-40...

San V 1-22 my bilge pump works!

Headed out onto a very rainy lake this morning with two other boaters who were crazy enough to head out into the rain. I should probably be living in the Pacific Northwest because I LOVE the rain and especially fishing in it! My bilge pump kicked on about every 15min or so pumping out a few gallons ...

Personal best between snowy weather fronts

So it snowed a lot around Christmas and new years. I caught my first fishies of the year on the 5th, in a quick session at Antelope Draw in Utah. I caught 4 rainbows of no significant size....but fish are fish, especially in the dead of winter. Most of Flaming Gorge is quickly icing over in Wyoming ...

Tiny jig has been killing it at Murray.

I've been absolutely killing it at Murray.  Fishing my BFS setup with a 1/16 oz Keitech Mono Spin jig paired with a Z-Man 2.5 inch TRD Crawz.  Both in green pumpkin. I must have caught 20 keeper sized bass in my last 2 trips.   https://i.servimg.com/u/f20/20/42/12/38/img_2074.jpg https://i.servimg.c...

San V 1/25 Really good day!

Here is your weekly Thursday San V report. To quote Ice Cube “ Today was a good day” Ended up boating 16 today. My best numbers there in a while. When I got back to my area I immediately saw a couple of fish breaking in the bushes, which I haven’t seen in a few weeks. Ended up getting 6 in the first...

Crawdads vs. Jigs: Which Will Catch More Bass

Crawdads vs. Jigs: Which Will Catch More? https://youtu.be/aooAO1DD0OE Hey all I hope you’re staying dry. Headed out to El Capitan this Sunday and decided I would fish crawdads. I used to love fishing crawdads and haven’t done it for a while because many of my old crawdad holes no longer hold them. ...

Cool Patterned Leopard Shark

Thought I’d share a few pics of this beautiful female leopard shark we caught yesterday. Some of the coolest patterns I’ve ever seen on one! The Leo’s are thick in San Diego Bay right now and we have been catching multiple each trip in the South Bay

San V 2/26 Way better than I expected.

After the fish were hammered with 110 teams in the Anglers Marine tournament on Saturday, my expectations were set pretty low. The morning started out about how I thought it would. There were only about 6 boats when I launched but one of them ended up on the spot I wanted to start on. No biggie, mov...

San V 3/4 Epic morning

I’m really bummed I have to go back to work next Monday. The last two have been really good to me at San V. Last week I got the 7lber and today I boated 27 (no BS, I have pics of most of them). The bite started almost right away this morning. Messed around with a chatterbait for about a dozen casts ...

Lake Murray 12.3 pound bass caught.

How we miss this? Your home lake Vinny! https://wonews.com/double-digit-largemouth-bagged-at-lake-murray/ BY MIKE STEVENS LA MESA— Winter fishing at Lake Murray was uncharacteristically sluggish, but things picked up on the bass scene a couple weeks ago when respectable numbers of 2- to 4-pound larg...

Some fun on the home lake!

I got to the lake a little before sunrise, under cloudy, chilly conditions. There's still alot of water coming into the lake from the major creeks still, keeping the water temp kind of frosty feeling! I started the day throwing a small jerkbait and quickly hooked up with a couple size challenged fis...

San V 3/30 Father/ son outing

My son came into town for the Easter weekend so we headed out into a rainy morning to see what we could find. Only three boats out there that I know of. Headed to the scene of the crime of my last trip, Barona of course. Started the day out with a solid 3.7 on my third cast with a Senko. Picked up a...

SoBay Tube day...Okay....

Fished with Gotfish in the South Bay. I got 17 spotties and one corvina. Pic for attention: 20240105_183458[1].jpg The small greenish ScorcherZ tube baits got most of the fish, a few bit a texas-rigged powerbait grub in a candy corn color. Nothing on the bucktails, underspins, tailspins, Kroc spoon....

4/8-You guessed it....Murray

Just for today..... I am going to save you guys from reading me babbling on and on. So here are a few pics of some fish I caught in (McFish will be shocked again) water depths around 25-35 feet of water. Hopefully the warmer weather will spur up more action in closer. Tight lines :-) Hover Bait/Bass...
