Slow start to shore pounding bass

This year has been a bit slower with the bass bite from shore. I get into a decent fish here and there, but the bite has been very slow. The minute you skip a week you may miss out.

Re: San see 5/1/23 monday

I knew it was going to be a special day, first cast was bit, then a hen mallard jumped up on the deck and stayed with me about 45 minutes.,. We had a long talk about duck hunting I told her to stay off that Colorado river and salton sea next fall. And the guys on Noffinger rd were sky busters. I do...

Walmart always carried live worms in the past. No shiners or craws.

Donald and Keiffer stirring

Well for the first few hours it seemed like bad business as usual at the old lake. Just cold and rainy! The game plan was to throw a buzz bait through flooded brush. If that failed, a spinnerbait through flooded brush. I just knew they had to be in flooded brush! Well, if they were, they were not in...

Re: Donald and Keiffer stirring

Very nice! I was getting concerned last week that spring was never going to happen on D.K.! I think when summer gets here, they'll be in the brush...if the City doesn't take all the water out first! I never thought of taking a photo while laying on my side!!!

Re: Donald and Keiffer stirring

Nice job @fisheromen and under cool conditions at the lake of D & K. Looks like you had some fun and sorry to hear about the one that got away(you will hopefully catch him and bigger ones sooner or later). The water level at the lake has been so high that I thought you had to fish sideways judgi...

I'm new to the whole bass fishing thing so this was my first time on the water trying to catch some largies. Thanks to VinnyBass who was kind enough to provide me with some detailed advice I felt like I knew what I was doing. Not a lot of action though but we've caught a few between myself and the j...

Barrett report May 7th

Hi all, Had a great day at Barrett. Water is only 65, I don't know why it expected it to be warmer. Speaking of temperature, at 0430 it was 36 degrees F in the air. That makes you wide awake even if you weren't while in your warm vehicle. Almost 30 total fish today. Mostly on an underspin jig with d...

Re: East county tackle and bait

Not exactly in East County but Lemon Grove Bait n Tackle (formerly Barnacle Bill’s) sells live bait. They are owned by ECBT and I’ve never seen a homeless person there.
