Lake Murray April 5, 2023

Murray bass .jpg The cold weather and water level fluctuating up and down has not helped the bass fishing at Lake Murray. It has been a tough bite with smaller fish as a reward after a lot of hard work recently. Good news as the action should be picking up now that we may be in for some warmer weat...

Nice Red ear sunfish

I just found the site and wanted to get things going again. I got this nice red ear sunfish at lake 5 on a night crawler.

Just a few from Santee while the site was down.

All caught on ikas, flukes, or senkos. The weather this winter has made the spring bite funky. Not getting as many bites as I usually get on reaction baits this time of year.

Re: Welcome to SDFish Forums

Thanks Easy I figured it out after a bit as I went though those simple steps and the reason it did not work was because I was naming the file with hyphen, dashes, periods of something and after I renamed the pic something with out them....like just the word Bass....it worked. Love your pic! Tight lin...

SD City Lakes Reminder

Below is the San Diego City Lakes Schedule to use mostly as a reference. I posted this because it is not fun to drive all the way to a lake and find out it is closed that day. First of all, Lake Hodges is CLOSED. Lake Barrett will be opening in May(May 3rd, I believe?) I am not sure about Upper Otay...

Re: Just a few from Santee while the site was down.

Two thumbs up bud! Yeah, reaction was nil for me Jan. and Feb. Four trips out w/ stripes every time, even went d/s at Cap the last time, backseater and I still got the stripe in 5 hours of trying. Haven''t fished since. That, plus knee went out from kneeling on he ground to paint a painting for 4 ho...

Re: Great to see this site

Haven’t been on the old site for quite some time. Then last week wanted to look something up and it as gone. Not sure what went down and honestly don’t care. I’m just glad to have a San Diego fish forum to see what’s hot in SDfishing

Three little bass

First of all, thanks to whomever saw the need to start this new site! It is very much appreciated! As many of you know I frequent Sutherland on most Fridays. This year I am attempting to fish an entirely differently lake. It is 40 feet deeper that the lake I fished in the fall! On the opener the wat...

Re: Three little bass

If I did not know you better, I would think you caught three bass between 3 to 5 pounds and keeping it low-key…. but since you’re such an honest guy, I have to believe that you got three small bass. Getting on the water is always better then not getting on the water and catching bass no matter what ...

A spring day on San V...not!

I got to the lake at 6:15, under dark, cold, cloudy, drizzly skies..which pretty much remained that way for the next 6 hours!! The lake seems about a month behind with the unseasonably cold spring we're having! I ended the day with 14 fish, mostly small males which I hadn't planned on fishing for! N...

Re: A spring day on San V...not!

Great to see you back on the waters of San V again and posting on this new site. It used to be McFish Mondays and I never had to worry about you dropping in to Murray and trying to take over some of my spots(ha, ha ...just kidding of course). I bet it was pretty cool out there on Monday, but weather...

Murray: Kayak or Boat=Same results

Hit Murray in my kayak yesterday morning(4/19) and then again this morning(4/20) only this time in my boat. There has to be some casting advantage especially in a boat being higher above the water(not related to 4/20 high..ha ha) but there really wasn't any. Anyway, basically the same results...some...

Re: Padres/Pitch Clock/Affecting batters?

I know it sounds nutty, and all teams have to deal with this.....but it just seemed weird that most of the team except for Bogaerts is in a slump. I can see why the Red Sox fans did not want to give him up. He is a quality player and hopefully the hitting will start for the rest of the team and make...

Early release wrote: Tue Apr 18, 2023 6:50 pm I was out on Sunday and pretty much had the same fishing experience. I was happy to see the fish I did, since it's my third time at San V and the other two times I only caught trees. I'm looking forward to it warming up, it's a nice place to fish. san V.jpg
The trees are always biting at San V!
