Re: Welcome to SDFish Forums

Also a big thank u to the administrator for resurrecting this web site and forum(s). It is indeed a great way to keep the City(lakes) accountable for some questionable decisions they have made in the past, specifically concerning Barrett. Stay tuned.

Re: SD City Lakes Reminder

FYI.......I have been told by the City that they are looking at the 1 day/month closure of the lakes. It will be before the Council this fall and hopefully it will be back to where there is no 1 day/month lake closure. Stay tuned.

Re: Hodges

FYI.....for any questions regarding the City lakes call Bryan Norris @ 619.668.2014. Please remember to be respectful. Ever since the "old school" left or retired(Jim Brown, Larry Botroff, Hugh Marx, etc) the city lakes programs have gone to s..t! It has long been felt by the City Council ...

Re: Good times, and request from staff

The person to contact at City Lakes is Bryan Norris(619.668.2014) Its a bit absurd that we as fisherman have to request something that concerns maintenance. Its not like the place is not making $$$, after all it is sold out month after month. Seasonally, Barrett generates the most revenue of all the...

Re: Good times, and request from staff

Some good points.......FYI Bryan is NOT your fishermans friend. Also FYI if there was not a stink made last season there would not have been any boat/motor rentals. Part of the contract with respect to the City Lakes is "there are recreational activities" available. There is supposed to be...

Re: Lowrance 3-in-1 Transducer NIB

The Active Imaging 3 in 1 operates on different frequencies giving better resolution than the Total Scan. It is only compatible with the Elite Ti2 series, HDS Carbon series. and HDS Live series units.

Re: opening day????

It should be Wednesday, May 1st. Normally Barrett is closed the 1st Wednesday of the month but when opening day falls on that day it will be open. I will call the City to confirm.

Re: opening day????

Just confirmed from the City(Bryan Norris).....opening day is Wednesday May 1st...........tickets go on sale Tuesday April 9th. Also Bryan wanted me to mention that they have received the last of the new motors last season, that means that we need to take care of these as they will be the last ones ...

June 9th report

Launched at Piggy's on my new super tube around 6 ish in the am. Sure wish people(Ram truck) would learn how to park near the launch so 2 people can launch at the same time. Headed across to the rocks, pick one up trolling over. Water started out at 71 in the am and last I saw it around 4 in the aft...

Re: Keep our Lakes Open

Yes I applaud Supervisor Anderson and all the fisherman who took the time to sign the petition. Maybe.......just maybe he might consider chiming in on the one day a month lake closure issue? That was just such a stupid decision the City made that caught us all by surprise. Any ideas how we can start...

Re: Keep our Lakes Open

The thing that I question.....that actually came from a City worker......is that the staff is always at the lakes( in the contract) so why turn down revenue that is so desperately needed to run the lakes? I think the County is the answer to all these problems that the City just does not care about. ...
