Corvina
Great to see the site back up again, and that good triumphed over evil in this case (last dig I promise)! I hadn’t been posting much in the months leading up to the original forum’s untimely demise, but thought I’d post a quick report. Cold water has made the corvina fishing tough but some are still...

Re: The beans are coming ;)
Nice! I definitely feel like those early season corbina are more opportunistic later in the season. I got one this year on a red perch fly and another one on a Texas rigged swimbait. I’ve caught a couple on LCs during grunion runs too. Not sure how they think they can fit one in those sucker mouths ...

More corvina
Got in some more corvina fishing recently. More quantity over quality compared to before but still some pretty fun fishing. All caught on rapala shadow rap or spook. I’ve really been liking the shadow raps lately. They seem to have better action than LCs even though they don’t cast as far (also chea...

Re: More corvina
Still back in the bay but this is the time of year they really get moving up in the bay. Americas cup harbor in summer is the easiest place to get them during the summer. While getting on sport boats you always see groms fishing for them off the docks.

North Gonzaga and Loreto
I'm going to be moving to New England this fall. With only a few remaining months in SD, I knew that the one thing I absolutely had to do was fish Baja proper. I went once to Gonzaga with a couple friends on a road trip, and two weeks later went with my dad to Loreto via plane. Both trips were great...

Best way to land kayak halibut
Kayak fishing lends some challenges when landing Halibut compared to boat fishing. When in a boat, all you need to do is get the fish over the rail but in a kayak you need to keep the fish almost completely restrained until it's dead. If a Halibut goes apeshit on deck there's a great chance that it ...

Halibut
Really solid Halibut fishing in the bay the last couple of weeks from skiffs, kayak, and shore. Using sardines, smelt, and double rig with underspin and white gulp swimbaits.

Re: Struggling to catch leopard sharks from shore
Fresh bait is key. Old mackerel like most of the ones you buy from tadckle stores with brown, mushy meat is terrible shark bait. Either catch some from a pier and use same day/within a week or two if frozen, or catch a small perch, croaker, or corbina at the beach and cut it up. You don't need to go...

Re: Paddleboard Tarpon Fishing: Report
A circle hook with a split ring attaching it to the eye of the jighead? Interesting, that tarpon fishing is still a bucket list for me (as for most other anglers) but it seems so frustrating to expect to lose so many fish that even hooking one "counts" more than hooking and losing just abo...

Massachusetts Fishing
Hi everyone, I moved to Massachusetts a month ago and have been fishing a lot in my free time. I had heard people tell me that the inshore fishing here was good but I wasn't expecting it to be this good. I'm not even exaggerating, I think I've caught close to 200 striper since late August. I caught ...

Re: Massachusetts Fishing
Have you had opportunity to check out the Cape Cod canal ? Has been a bucket list item for me for years . Thanks for the report . WR I have a couple times but haven't really had much success there so far or really put any kind of regular, consistent time into it. I think the fact that the fishing r...

Re: Massachusetts Fishing
F’n awesome. Is the tautog the dark one? Interesting fish Yes those are tautog, a lot of fun to catch. Very similar to sheephead but I think they're a better gamefish since they're trickier to hook, pull even harder for their size, and don't seem like they've gotten badly depleted in recent years (...

Re: Lobster Question
Best way to do it is to keep it in a damp cooler with maybe some wet towels or over seaweed. As long as they're kept in a cool, dry place and don't dry out or are kept submerged in water (where they will suck up the O2 and suffocate) they will be fine for a couple days. An easy way to prepare them i...

Re: TILAPIA IN LAKE MIRAMAR?
I agree that whole deep-fried wild tilapia are surprisingly good. I used to trash it like everyone else, but the one time I caught some in the Yuma canals and cooked them in a deep fryer they were delicious. I know most things taste good deep fried, but I was really surprised that the tilapia tasted...
