So I butterflied out a dorado to cook for my family's early labor day party. It's not a true zarrandeado since I didn't do it over hot coals but 45 min on the smoker and a few on the grill for some color does the trick.

I have missed fishing the local beaches lately, so I made a quick trip to Seal Beach with a few blood worms... There was a lot of eel grass to contend with, but did manage a decent corbina and calico... A small corb and two dink sand bass... Nothing huge but a fun day... And I managed to get that it...

We did our yearly trip to Tulum Mexico... We meet a bunch of friends down there every year and it's not a fishing trip... I fish an hour or less, some days, while my bride lounges under a palapa... This area is getting more devoid of sea life every year... They are constantly cleaning up the sagassu...

Went to one of my local little spots. Watched a guy pull up an 8” calico on shrimp, bash it over the head with a rock then filet it. Called fish and game took a few mins to get a live operator. Longtime no post! Got out offshore today on the San Diego. 2 stop shop more or less. First stop hooked up 1 and lost in a tangle. Second stop went 4 for 4. First 2 yellowfin on 40# and medium large sardine, second 2 on 25lb and small sardine. Beautiful grade fish 30 lb class for the most part. Felt ...

I took my dog to fiesta Island for a couple of hours. Caught 5 croaker throwing small grubs.

Been a month off the sand so with water temps still fairly warm, decided to make a beach visit yesterday afternoon. Corbina & croakers are still around if you can get your bait to them before the perch stealers. Conditions not great, sloppy surf with sets every 5-6 seconds & fairly heavy sal...

I went fishing for about four hours. Caught 11 bass. Crankbait, spinners and plastics. Nice to go fishing in the middle of the week.

Went for a spottie session today in sd bay and saw a dead striper, then I saw a guy fishing topwater for corvina and he told me he caught a 26 in striper last night in the bay on topwater! Crazy never thought they came down this far

Trick-or-treaters are gone and October is at the end. Wish I could fish as much as I did back in June but in all honesty October has been a decent month. PB calico. This alone would make it a fine month. Got stuck twice when reeling in. I was able to un-stuck it by lower the tip of the rod and wait ...

Got s'more sheep. No hogs but decent size.

A couple more calicos... Black croaker. Caught a lot more of these this year than the last.
