Re: New Outcast Super Fat Cat with Blue Robotics Thrusters

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FsmDx9C8-s4 Good morning all! I have been wanting to do this video for a long time and have had lots of people ask me to do it. Last week I finally purchased my first new float tube in over 19 years. I had (and still have 2) Outcast Super Fat Cat tubes that I absolut...

Re: Wild ride at San V today

The guys with forward facing sonar are chasing and catching schooling fish in open water in the dead of winter now.

Re: Wild ride at San V today

I have played a little with Active Target on my buddy’s boat. There are fish looking at your bait on almost every cast. It’s definitely a challenge learning to use it effectively. I wouldn’t be interested in video game Fishing but as the above poster said, being able to use it in situations to help ...

Re: The BFs "Craze"

I have officially entered the BFS craze. Will say - I caught around 40 bass all 10-11” (but quite girthy) on a little Megabass X-80Jr today and it was absolutely a blast. I am definitely hooked on the BFS thing now. Even little clones are a really fun fight.

Re: 10/20 Murray

All types of things been going on keeping me from fishing and recently had my boat serviced so went out for just a few hours mostly to test things yesterday. I have not fished Murray for a few weeks and since so just a quick report. There are schools of small bass chasing shad around the lake. Most...

Why would water be released to the ocean? Have we conserved too nuch?
Maybe we’re going to get a lot of rain this winter and the city is preparing for it…. Yeah….that’s the reason…ha ha :-)
Yeah that will 100% be the city’s reasoning for it lol

Re: Ultralight fishing at Otay

I have become a big fan of BFS fishing. There’s a lot of stuff available out there now at most any price point. I’m using a Megabass Triza Aello rod, a true 0 power UL that will throw baits as light as 1/32oz. My reel is a Daiwa Silver Creek Air Stream Custom. It makes even smaller fish a ton of fun

Re: Ultralight fishing at Otay

That looks like an excellent setup. I love ultralight fishing, but to be honest I really don't like spinning reels. Especially on ultralights. I am fishing 6 lb. Braid to 4 (or sometimes even 2 lb.) flouro carbon leader, and I am constantly having to fight line twist. Yesterday I had to cut out abo...

Re: San V report on 11/13/23

Hello all, Headed out to San V with John W today. Got started around 0730, because it's cold and there's no hurry when it's windy in the morning. Plugged around most of the day mixing small hardbaits (me) and softbaits (John). Not a whole lot of activity. Did pick up an impressive bluegill that nai...

That's a fatty...wonder if it's actually a Red Ear? The busters are very finicky right now, I'm not throwing anything over 2 1/2", and you mostly have to land the bait on their heads!

Turkey Day in the desert

Took a little trip out East to the land of the Canals today for an afternoon session. Had a blast! When it’s good out there, it’s just so much fun. Managed 10 or so largemouth and a couple smallmouth, including my first 2+ (don’t laugh, I’d never caught a Smallie until a few months ago lol) and new ...

Re: Lake Wohlford

Lots of reports of slow fishing all over the county this weekend, so I don’t think you were alone in that. Seems like right now San V is still the only lake with any consistent bite. Cap has been mostly a miss lately. Just a weird year for bassin in SD county.

Nice catch! Tight lines to you buddy!

Re: Advice plz!: Headin to The River

I’ve got no Blythe knowledge (I’m sure there are many here who do), but you can find smallmouth in the imperial valley canals much closer to SD. Look for check gates and drops in any of the canals on Google earth and you are in good shape to find fish. Got my first Smallmouth out there a couple mont...

Re: El Cap 11.24

Is it just me, or was this one of the quietest years of fishing in So Cal ? From Jan 1 to March it was dead as a door nail for me. I’ve had a really good year from March on. It’s starting to slow way down (especially for shore anglers) locally, gonna be focusing my efforts out of town for the next ...

Re: Turkey Day in the desert

Part 2 today. All small ones except for one tank. Initially I thought the fish was a Smallie based on its’ shape and size of its’ mouth but it has a lateral line and markings like a Largie? Also has a connected back dorsal fin like a spotted bass, although I’ve never heard of Spots being caught out ...

Re: Go to bait

Two easy answers for me.
6” roboworm on a dropshot
Megabass Vision 110 Jr + 1 (or any of the 110 family jerkbaits, they all get bit)

Both of those are in my 5 “desert island” baits, along with a white spinnerbait, a 10-12’ diving crankbait, and the 5” Slim Senko.
